Meet your Feature of the Month Author

Katherine Parks is a pseudonym for a young woman living in the state of North Carolina. The name Katherine Parks is her chosen name as a sort of homage to her paternal grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoys reading fiction from the likes of Stephen King, Toni Morrison, Anita Shreeve, V.C. Andrews, Nicholas Sparks, and many more. She hopes to one day see her fiction published in both her birth name and her pseudonym's name.

FZ: How does it feel to know that your work may be seen by millions of people on this site?

KP: It feels awesome. I have worked for so long to make it and now I feel like this is just another thing telling me not to give up. It's great!

FZ: Have you any published works at this time?

KP: At this time, no. I am currently working on a romance novel and a serial romance story on my Myspace page.

FZ: Do you have children.

KP: I do, but I would rather not divulge any other info about that.

FZ: How do you find time to write?

KP: It's fleeting. I get a little done here and there. I actually write my serial just before I go to bed. (laughs) It's interesting.

 FZ: Can you tell us the title of your novel?

KP: Sure. It's called A Lonely Heart.

FZ: What's it about?

KP: Love and the habit some of us have at pushing that away. We would rather be lonely and miserable, it seems, than be happy and unsure. Love does that to us sometimes. When you're hurt so many times you just decide it's too much trouble. 

FZ: Is that something that you feel you suffer from?

KP: (laughing) Not at all. I have been married for a few years now. Although if there is anything to turn people off to love I think it is marriage sometimes. It's one of those things that when it's great, it's REALLY great, but when it's bad...
